Celebrate Harlem’s Culture with The Harlem School of the Arts’ “A Harlemettes Holiday”

A huge round of applause for The Harlem School of the Arts’ annual holiday show, A Harlemettes Holiday, an extravaganza of song, dance, and music that shows-off the impeccable skills of the Harlem-based arts institute’s brightest lights.

The show follows a family on a magical holiday journey through Harlem where they discover the true meaning of Christmas through the Manhattan neighborhood’s rich cultural legacy.

The show was written, choreographed, and directed by the school’s dance director, Aubrey Lynch II, who was inspired by elements of The Radio City Rockettes and The Harlem Renaissance’s current centennial.

Lynch combines numerous genres of dance and music such as jazz, blues and hip-hop learned from his experiences as an original Lion King cast member and as an original member of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

The show closes on Sunday, so grab your tickets while you still can!

Founded in 1964, The Harlem School of the Arts fosters performing arts and study through training and mentorships while connecting students to the city’s cultural community.
