LYBLABCs: C is for Change

As part of my weekly LYBLABCs series — which rolls-out a core value aligned to Oprah’s Live Your Best Life philosophy found in O, the Oprah Magazine — here’s the latest virtue!

C is for Change!

Change is binary: good and bad.

Change, when good, churns the wheels of idealism, and actively roots-out the ills of society through heart and humanity, openness and honesty. Good change is progress, and progress is emancipation.

Change, when bad, condemns, complains, asks for hard work and loyalty, promises a revolution, but offers no solution other than bomb-throwing. Bad change wants to annihilate and build nothing over the ruins.

Good change is hope, and with hope, anything’s possible.

Dedicate yourself to changing what is hopeless in the world and replacing it with something better. Heal it, and position it towards an open society. Fight for justice. Work towards ending oppression, suffering, and corruption.

Be fearless in your beliefs. Stand for something! Start a movement and make a change! When people are attracted to the same ideas and principles, they naturally come together.

Good change shifts your values. You learn how far you can go, how much you can accomplish, and how little it takes to survive. What more could you want?
